The bot that checks your site's SEO
If you saw EminexSEOBot in your logs, someone who runs this site uses Eminex to find and fix its SEO issues. Here's what it does.
What it is
EminexSEOBot is Eminex checking a website for SEO issues on behalf of its owner — a business that uses Eminex. It reads pages the way a visitor sees them and reports problems like missing titles, broken links or slow pages.
When it visits
After the site is set up in Eminex, after Eminex applies fixes to it (at most once every 12 hours), and when the site owner runs a goal. It may also open a single page to check that a fix is live.
How much it reads
Up to 20 pages per visit, fetched one at a time — never a flood of requests. It only follows links on the same site.
It follows robots.txt
Pages your robots.txt disallows for EminexSEOBot (or for all bots) are skipped, not fetched.
Not counted as a visitor
It doesn't load analytics or ad-tracking tags, so a check doesn't show up as visits in your analytics or fire your ad pixels.
No effect on Google
Search engines don't see or count these visits. They don't help or hurt your Google ranking.
How to recognise it
Its user-agent always contains:
EminexSEOBot/1.0 (+https://eminex.ai/bot)It reads pages like a browser, so the rest of the string looks like a normal browser's.
How to block it
Add this to your site's robots.txt:
User-agent: EminexSEOBot
Disallow: /To keep it out of part of the site only, disallow just that path. If you use Eminex yourself, blocking it means Eminex can't check your site.
